We went to the Balloon Festival here and it benefitted the Boys and Girls club of Monroe County. The Sequoyah museum was quite interesting to visit while attending the festival. A great history lesson on this man who was a Cherokee native. The grounds are nice for a walk too!

Enjoyed 10th annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. Will return next weekend for the annual Cherokee Heritage Festival. Outstanding venue for a variety of activities, and a blessing to have such a culturally significant and informative facility in our neighborhood.

Very educational but I wouldn't recommend it for young children. There's a lot of reading on the tour. Well worth the $5 admission. I never understood how important Sequoia was to the development of the Cherokee Nation.

Beautiful museum! Top notch displays and lots of information. I learned quite a bit about the Cherokee tribes and Sequoyah in particular. Worth the trip! There’s a beautiful pavilion there if you were to pack a lunch.

Took my 7yo twins on the free day in August Lots! Lots of parking, not too crowded. Easy access for handicapped. Extremely informative and kind staff!! We will be going back for the next event here for sure!!! Also, the educational exhibits inside are interactive and very neat to look at and watch!!! My 7yo twins stayed interested the entire time, which is rare at normal museums. There is also an excellent walking trail around the property that's got gorgeous views. 10/10

Very nicely updated. We were here a number of years ago, and while nice, it felt like something from the 70s or 80s. They have done a great job with the new displays, and it is a very effective telling of the story of Sequoyah and the impact he made. It was very hot and hazy, so we did not tour the grounds again this time, but it is a very nice piece of land and you could easily spend the day on site.
