We stopped by the museum today but we couldn't go in. We're traveling with a small dog and he wasn't welcome even in a stroller or a belly pack carrier. They were very rude and not friendly at all when we inquired about bringing him in. He's a very small dog that doesn't cause any problems. We were just across the way to fort Loudon and they had no issues whatsoever with our dog. So we skip this museum. They actually expected us to leave the dog in the hot car when it is 85° out. I asked this question and they didn't know what to say to me. The people that are in this Museum are not at all friendly. I do not recommend it.

Beautiful museum dedicated to Sequoyah, who invented the Cherokee Syllabary. Members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians are admitted free with tribal I'd. The property is beautiful and there are some hiking trails as well as a lake. Small book store is on property.
